Memorial Description:

Plaque of popular design 30 inches high x 18 inches wide, set in a fluted wood frame 5 inches wide (76cms x 46cms x 13cms).

This plaque is the upper of two set in to the same frame.

There is a wide border of string design culminating in roundels patterned in red at each corner.

The centre of the plaque is arched, with the spandrels being hatched in red.

The names of those who died are in a cartouche at the centre, the names listed in three columns.

The names of those who served are in three columns, all columns are divided by a vertical line. Lettering is in black sans serif capitals with some red initials.

12 surnames and initials of those who died
50 surnames and initials of those who served.

Notes:

1. The frame has obviously been made new to accommodate the 1939-45 plaque below, as there is no evidence of the sides being extended.
