Notes:

1. The church was known as “The Fireman’s Church”.

2. There was a plan to erect a rood screen, but permission for this was refused. The Archdeacon declared that the erection of such a screen would be illegal as no Faculty would have been granted. Since people had donated money for a screen, the problem was whether it should be spent any other way. It was agreed that a Faculty be applied for.
