Memorial Description:

Plaque, rectangular, 62 inches high x 66 inches wide (157cms x 168cms), with a curlicue at centre top picked out in gold.

The dedication is at the top, and the prayer at the bottom.

The lettering is gilded, the names in three columns divided into sphere of service: Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, W.A.A.F., Merchant Navy, Civilians.

The lettering is Roman capitals throughout.

Notes:

1. In 1995, a Faculty was sought to remove three pews from in front of the memorial, to stain the exposed floor, to lay a small bordered carpet in front of the memorial, and to add a wrought iron bracket on each side of the memorial to hold Royal British Legion standards. The costs for the brackets, from Brian Rostron, to be £91.65. There would be grant from the R.B.L. of £300.
