To the glory of God, this window is erected in commemoration of the distinguished services of the
Northumberland and Durham Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa. And in memory of the under-mentioned
ninety-four Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of the Corps who lost their lives during the Campaign.
A nominal roll of the 2254 officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the Imperial Yeomanry who volunteered their services at Newcastle upon Tyne is deposited in the Cathedral Archives.

Memorial Description:

Stained glass window of three lights.

Beneath this is a brass plaque on black pattress 26 inches high x 54 inches wide (66cms x 137cms) with ivy leaf embellishments at the four corners and middle top and bottom.

The dedication at the top is in elaborate capitals.

A further statement about casualties runs along the bottom.

The names are listed in ten columns each divided by a vertical line, the lettering in sans serif capitals.
