Clock column, built of sandstone blocks, measuring 42 inches (106 cm) square at the base and approximately 16 feet high (4.9m).

It has a blue faced clock 18 inches diameter (46cms) with gold pointers on front and side faces of the columns.

Near the base is a panel of sandstone bearing the inscription.

The lettering is incised in gilded Roman capitals.

The names are written in consecutive script, separated by a dot placed between them, illustrated in the enclosed printout by an asterisk for clarity.

1. Reconditioned April 1994. The clock was repaired in the 18 months leading up to the VE 50th anniversary celebrations by Alan Dawson from New Hartley. It had not worked for some twenty years.
