Memorial Description:

Cross of St. Cuthbert type.

It measures  46 inches x 15 inches at base (117cm x 37cm), is approx. 16 feet tall (5m), tapering towards the top.

It is decorated on one side only with carved plaited string design in the top panels of the shaft.

It stands on a two-stepped pedestal, both steps having curved corners.

The lettering is raised to stand proud, and is in the lower panels on the shaft, and also on the front of the pedestal.

The whole stands in a small gravelled area with iron fence surrounding it.

A life sized outline of a soldier now stands in front.

Notes:

1. There was formerly in the church a typed list entitled “War Casualties: additional information gleaned from family headstones”. It seems to have disappeared.
