Memorial Description:

Plaque 18 inches high x 24 inches high (46cms x 61cms), with rounded top.

There is a single line border.

At the top is the badge of the Royal Navy in half relief, between the words “Pro Patria”.

At the bottom is the family crest of a tiger’s head, raised, pierced with a broken spear, with the words “Libertas et Lex” (“Liberty and Law”) also in half relief.

Both badges appear to be made of a different marble and inserted.

The inscription is in black Roman upper case with some red initials.

Notes:

1. Albert Silvertop and his son George purchased the cottages and farm lands of Minsteracres in the mid-18th century. A Catholic Mission was established on the estate in 1765. The Church of St. Elizabeth was opened in 1854. The estate was sold to the Passionist Congregation in 1949.
