and on the Women’s Section.

Memorial Description:

Book of Remembrance.

The outer cover is in red leather, lavishly tooled and gilded, with the shield bearing the ancient arms of Northumbria surrounded by Tudor roses.

The names are handwritten in Gothic upper and lower case script, with the names in black, and the regiment in smaller blue and red letters on alternate pages.

It is set in a case affixed to a pillar.

The case has a wood frame 24 inches long by 18 inches wide (698mm x 457mm), with a sloping top, 4 inches (102mm) high at the back and 2 inches (51mm) high at the front.

The top and sides are of glass.
It bears a small brass plate at the back which tells of the dedication.
