Lest We Forget

Plaque 21 inches high x 30 inches wide (53cms x 76cms).

It is flanked by two Art-deco brass electric lamps with flame-effect shades on a wood pattress 34 inches high x 53 inches wide (86cms x 135cms).

The dates and the words “Lest we Forget” are on raised small scrolls, and the words only are highlighted in white.

The names are listed in two columns, three on the left are from 1914-18, three on the right and the one at the bottom are from 1939-45.

All lettering is in Roman capitals.

1. Although the memorial does not make it clear which names referred to which war, this was clarified by a man at the hall who knew the families concerned

2. Two brothers “Aspin” were killed in 1914-18.

3. F/Sgt Henderson in 1939-45 was a gunner who flew in Lancasters. He was 21 when killed.
