Memorial Description:

Plaque of oak with brass plates, 110 inches high x 74 inches wide ( 280cms x 188cms).

There is an elaborately carved frame surrounding various plaques.

The top plaque which carries the dedication is a hemisphere, with a laurel wreath carved in half relief above it.

Below it are four vertical plaques each bearing the names in a single column on each.

Below this is a horizontal plaque bearing the quotation and the dates, which are in red with a tiny red bow under each date.

Beneath this again are two smaller horizontal plaques with a long one above.

These are for 1939-45, the upper plaque bearing the dedication and the lower ones bearing the names in two columns on each.

All lettering is in Roman capitals in black with some red initials and dates.

Notes:

1. At the unveiling ceremony, Cllr. Brass was presented with a book entitled “The World Crisis”

2. In 1994 the parish council organised the addition of the names of men who died during the Second World War.
