Plaque 27 inches high x 20 inches wide (69cms x 51cms).

Shaped like a shield, it is set on a black pattress of the same shape.

At the top is an anchor .

The lettering is incised and painted black, using sans serif and italic capitals throughout.

1. H.M.S. Holdene, a hired trawler of 274 gross tonnage, was sunk by a mine off Orfordness.
