This window is dedicated to the glory of God and in affectionate memory of the men who lost their lives during the Great War 1914-1919.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend.

Stained glass window depicting “The Light of the World” and “The Good Shepherd”.

1. The church was formed in 1867 from members of the Newcastle, Blackett Street church, and initially met in the Mechanics’ Institute. A new church hall was built in 1873 and a church in 1877. It closed in 1938 and the site was sold to Gateshead Council in 1940. The church was demolished in 1956.

2. It was used as a Food Office in WW2, after its demolition the Five Bridges/Swallow Hotel was built on the site.
