On window:
To the glory of God and in memory of the men of St. George’s Congregation
and Parish who laid down their lives in the Great War 1914 to 1919.

On plaque:
This tablet records the honoured names of the men who
went forth from this church and parish, and laid down their lives
for the sacred cause of liberty in the Great War 1914 to 1919

Memorial Description:

Stained glass window of three lights, on the theme of the Resurrection.

The centre light depicts Christ rising from the tomb, with the words “I am the Resurrection and the Life”.

At the bottom is an angel bearing a scroll on which are the words “Greater love . . . friend”.

In the left hand light is an angel bearing a trumpet, and below are soldiers guarding the empty tomb.

At the bottom is an angel bearing the badge of the Northumberland Fusiliers.

In the right hand light is a kneeling soldier.

At the foot is the badge the D.L.I.

Below this is the dedication.

Underneath is a brass plaque bearing the names.

It has a chequered border, otherwise is very plain.

The names are listed in five columns divided by vertical lines

. Lettering is in Roman capitals.
