St. Mary’s Parish Church

1939-45

Brass in oak frame.

To the glory of God and sacred to the memory of
the men of this Church who gave their lives for
their country in the World War 1939-1945.

“Faithful unto death”.

Plaque, in wide wood frame, 12 inches high x 18 inches wide (304mm x 457mm).

There is a wide border of cord pattern culminating in a knot in each corner.

At centre top are crossed flags with “For King & Country” in red and white.

The first line of the dedication and the quotation at the bottom are in Gothic script, the rest is in elongated Roman capitals.

1. The building was sold because it would cost too much to repair. It is hoped to be able to store the memorial locally.
