Memorial Description:

Plaque, rectangular, 48 inches high x 75 inches wide (121cms x 190cms).

At the top are two shallow panels, with a semi-circular centre top.

The dedication occupies the rounded section, with the words “Their names liveth for evermore” and “For God, for King, for Country” to the left and right respectively.

The lower, wider part is divided into four panels by pilasters.

The names are listed in a single column on each of these panels.

The lettering is in gilded sans serif capitals throughout.

Notes:

1. The memorial was to have been unveiled by the Vicar, Rev. John Farebrother (also spelt Fairbrother) but he was sick and died a few weeks afterwards.

2. John Carse was a former pupil who had built up the firm who not only made the memorial, but also built the Church and the Church School.
