1. The Crown Inn no longer trades under that name. The survival of the memorial is questionable.

2. “1916. The House and Ship Painters and Decorators met on alternate Saturdays at Mrs. J. Blain’s Crown Inn (Market Street). W. Cockburn, President, T. Rennison, Treasurer, R.C. Rennison, Secretary.1934. The Housepainters were meeting at the Crown. (Mr. G. Hall’s). President, John Willcox, Secretary, W. Hynes, Check Steward, A. Nayvin, Treasurer, G. Garson”.
