Memorial Description:

Roll of Honour, 24 inches high by 18 inches wide (608 mm x 457 mm).

There is a slim patterned border.

At the top, the title is surrounded by stems of leaves.

The dedication is in solid black lower case letters with an illuminated first capital “T”.

The names are handwritten in four columns, within a red border.

The quotation is in a small scroll at the bottom.

Names:

49 men and 4 women plus rank and regiment.

Notes:

1. The Alnwick Gazette reports 96 names on the roll.

2. The Illustrated Chronicle reports that 106 members of the congregation had enlisted.

3. St. James’s Church has been redesigned inside. All the memorials are now in a dedicated place at the top of the stairs, funded by War Memorials Trust.
