On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Steward Julius Charles Wedderkop, serving on S.S. Glenmorven (Leith) with the Mercantile Marine who died 26/12/1914.

In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Winifred Wedderkopp
who died Nov. 15th 1945 aged 68 years

Also her beloved husband
Charles, killed by enemy action
Dec. 27th 1914 aged 43 years

Rest in Peace

He was born in Copenhagen, the son of the late John and Marie Wedderkopp.  He was married to Winifred Wedderkopp (nee Nicholson), of 39, Linskill Street, North Shields.

Julius Charles Wedderkop is remembered at North Shields on N34.77, at Tynemouth on T36.14 page 38  and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
