He was born in South Shields, the son of Robert and Sarah Ann Waddell.  He was married to Mary Ann Waddell (nee Harding), of 27, Upper Queen Street, North Shields.

James Robert Waddell is remembered at North Shields on N34.77, at Tynemouth in T36.14 page 27 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
