On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Carpenter John Armstrong, serving on S.S. Caithness (Newcastle) with the Mercantile Marine, who died 20/04/1917.

He is listed in North Mail 19/02/1919 under “Heroes of the Sea”.

John Armstrong is remembered at North Shields in N34.30 page 11, at Tynemouth in T36.14 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
