On Plymouth Naval Memorial is the name of D/JX 221291 Ordinary Seaman Joseph Swann serving on H.M.S. Barham with the Royal Navy who died 25/11/1941.

The son of Thomas and Hilda Annie Swann, of Netherton Colliery, Northumberland. His brother Robert also died on service.

In Bedlington (Netherton Park) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of:
