On the Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fireman and Trimmer Nelson Dyball, serving on S.S. Westergate (Cardiff) with the Mercantile Marine who died 21/04/1918.

He was was born at Aldborough, Norwich, the son of John and Mary Ann Dyball.  He was married to Isabella Dyball, nee Stoker, of 43 Bolsover Street, Hirst, Ashington.

Nelson Dyball is remembered at Ashington on A17.08 and A17.43, at Gateshead on G39.030 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
