On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Chief Engineer Officer Albert Thompson Berry, serving on S.S. Sheaf Mount (Newcastle upon Tyne) with the Merchant Navy who died 24/08/1942.

The Hartlepool Northern Daily Mail 09/09/1942 reports with a photograph:-
SEA CASUALTIES
Mr. Albert Thompson Berry (40) chief engineer in the Merchant Navy, is reported to have lost his life last month. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Berry, of 29 Milton Road, West Hartlepool, and his wife and child live in Harwell Avenue. An old boy of Lynnfield and Avenue Road schools, he joined a searchlight battalion at the age of 16 in the last war, and also rendered useful service as a boy scout. He served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Richardsons Westgarth and Co Ltd. A memorial service to be held Oxford Road Baptist Church next Sunday.
