In Newcastle upon Tyne (St. Nicholas) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Second Radio Officer George Henry Ronald Hadwin, serving on M.V. British Courage (London) with the Merchant Navy who died 17/10/1945.

The son of Stephen and Sarah Winifred Hadwin, of Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The headstone reads:

In loving remembrance of
G.H. Ronald Hadwin, Radio Officer, M.N.
Died 17th October 1945 aged 23 years

Also his brother Gordon S. Hadwin
Died 24th March 1942 aged 10 years.

George Henry Ronald Hadwin is remembered in our List of Ships’ Crews.
