On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of C/TD/X 1861 Ordinary Seaman John Carey Forster, serving on H.M.S. Glorious  with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 08/06/1940.

He was the son of  Frederick Hudson Forster and Ethel Forster, of Scotswood, Newcastle upon Tyne
