On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of C/TD/X 1912 Able Seaman Edward James Cubitt, serving on H.M.S. Dunedin with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 24/11/1941.

He was the son of Alfred James and Amelia Helen Cubitt, of Bensham, Co. Durham
