On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/JX 388516 Ordinary Seaman Walter Bramhald serving on H.M.S. Beverley with the Royal Navy  who died 11/04/1943.

The son of Harrison and Elizabeth Ann Bramhald, of Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham.

In Bishop Auckland Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
Elizabeth Ann
beloved wife of Harrison Bramhald
who died 8th Jan. 1943
aged 41 years

Also of their beloved son
Seaman Walter Bramhald
killed in action 11th April 1943
aged 17 years

Walter Bramhald is remembered at Bishop Auckland in B140.12 and on our List of Ships’ crews.
