On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 79256 Petty Officer Stoker Clifford Chapman, D.S.M., serving with the Royal Navy who died 23/10/1942.

He was the son of Alexander and Georgina Chapman and was married to Margaret Ellen Chapman, of North Skelton, Yorkshire.

Victoria Aisbitt states:
This was my grandfather. He was married to Margaret Ellen Chapman, nee Auld. He had two children, Clifford Chapman (deceased) and Majorie Rochester, formerly Chapman, who is my mother. She was two when her father was killed and is now 84 years old (2024).

Clifford Chapman is remembered at Pegswood on P6.01 and P6.02, at Bothal on B48.01 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
