In Newcastle upon Tyne (West Road) Crematorium is the Commonwealth War Grave of First Radio Officer Sydney William Newbold, serving on S.S. Boreas (of Norway) with the Merchant Navy who died 23/05/1946.

The son of Sydney Leonard and Margaret Ann Newbold and the husband of Frances Mary Newbold, of Monkseaton, Whitley Bay.
