Randolph William Urquhart was the son of George Stedsman Urquhart and Elizabeth Urquhart, and the husband of Ann Carr Urquhart, of North Shields.

The Shields Daily News 19/08/1942 reports:-
Jervis Bay Survivor Buried at North Shields
The funeral took place at Preston Cemetery. North Shields, today of Mr Randolph William Urquhart, who was sub-lieutenant engineer on the armed liner Jervis Bay. which was sunk in the encounter with a powerful German raider in the Atlantic two years ago. He died at his home in Liverpool after a brief illness.
Family mourners were Mr Alan Urquhart. brother; Mr W. Mitchell, brother-in-law; Mr J. Mitchell, nephew; Mr W. Mitchell, iunr.. nephew.
Other mourners included Mr Alex Mitchell, Mr H. Yeat.-s, Mr R Barnard. Mr Crowfher, and Mr Hutchinson. Pastor R. Hunt officiated at the graveside and funeral arrangements were carried out by E. Turnbull and Son.

H.M.S. Jervis Bay was sunk on 5th November 1940.
