The son of Henry and Anna Bell Luke, of Blyth, Northumberland.

In Blyth (Cowpen) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory
of
Annabell
Beloved wife of
Henry Luke
Died 24th Dec. 1935
Aged 72 years.

The above Henry Luke
Died 27th March 1941
Aged 80 years.

John, their son, lost at sea
On H.M.S. Grenville
19th Jany. 1940
Aged 34 years.

John Luke is remembered at Blyth on B42.23 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
