Residing at Newcastle, he was Initiated into 659 Blagdon Lodge, Masonic Hall, Beaconsfield Street, Blyth on the 22nd September 1916; Passed 21st November 1916 and there is no record of any further Advancement. He was the husband of Ada I Havery of 254 Tamworth Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. He died on or about the 3rd December 1916 aged 26 and is remembered on the Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent, Panel 19.

HM Submarine E37 was an E Class submarine built on the River Clyde at Fairfield Shipyard, Goven, Glasgow, Scotland in 1916. She was lost in the North Sea near the Haaks Light Vessel with no survivors possibly after a collision with HM Submarine E43.

Ralph Havery is remembered at Blyth on B42.32, at Jesmond on J1.45, at Newcastle upon Tyne on NUT001 and NUT247, in the Masonic Roll of Honour 1914-18: Rev. Youngson: Part 1 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
