On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fourth Engineer Officer Wilfred Donaghy, serving on S.S. Corabella (London) with the Merchant Navy who died 30/04/1943.

The son of Frank and Olive Donaghy and the husband of E. M. Donaghy, of Hartlepool, Co. Durham.

Colin Boyd tells us that he lived at 8 Amberston Road, West Hartlepool. His wife was named Ethel. He was serving on the S.S. Corabella and was presumed drowned when the vessel was hit by a U-boat.

Wilfred Donaghy is remembered at Hartlepool on H115.16 plaque 3, at West Hartlepool on W111.055 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
