In Lincoln (Newport) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Flight Cadet Eric Kingsley Young Jennings serving with the 48th Training Depot Station, Royal Air Force who died 18/08/1918.

In Jarrow Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

Drowned 25th Aug. 1889
aged 25 years
at Oporto

Also of Florence Hazel died Nov.
5th 1888 aged 8 weeks
Frank Herbertson
Died August 24th 1895 aged 1¾ years

Beloved children of
William M. and Elizabeth M. Jennings

In loving memory of my dear father
Wm. M. Jennings M.R.C.S. (Eng)
Born 5th September 1858
Died 5th November 1915

Also of my brothers
H.L. Jennings died Feby. 13th 1918
E.K. Jennings died Augt. 18th 1918

Eric’s brother Herbert Lowther had died early in 1918 and his younger brother Noel Patrick Jennings died in 1943.

The Jarrow Express 23/08/1918 reports:-
DEATH A LOCAL AIRMAN.
Word was received in Jarrow this week that Flight Cadet E. Kingsley Jennings had died in the 4th Northern General Hospital, Sunday, from injuries received in accident.

The deceased, who was 19 years of age. was the sixth son of the late Dr. W. M. and Mrs. E. M. Jennings, of Jarrow. Deep sympathy is felt with the family in their bereavement.

The interment look place at Lincoln
