On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of 6095S Stoker Charles John Gerrish, serving on H.M.S. Indefatigable with the Royal Naval Reserve who died 31/05/1916.

The son of George and Emily Gerrish, of 36, Station Road, Easington Colliery, Co. Durham.

His brother George also died on the Indefatigable.
