On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Mate Thomas English, serving on S.S. Mavisbrook (Glasgow) with the Mercantile Marine who died 17/05/1918.

The son of Joseph Catton English and the late Annie English and the husband of Louisa English (nee Glendinning), of Glenogil, Raby Road, Stockton on Tees, Co. Durham. He was born at West Hartlepool.
