On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of 1824EA Chief Engine Room Artificer John Charles Esdon, serving on H.M.S. Anchusa with the Royal Naval Reserve who died 16/07/1918.

The son of Catherine Esdon, of 7, Cato Street, Southwick, Sunderland, and the late John G. Esdon.

John Charles Esdon is remembered at Southwick on S130.22,  at Sunderland on S140.017, in S140.48 Part 8 page 156, on S140.120, in the Bede School Magazines (See Index below),  in Peter Gibson’s Book and  in our List of Ships’ Crews.
