At Pink Farm Cemetery, Helles Turkey (including Gallipoli) is the Commonwealth War Grave of KX/118 Able Seaman Stephen Henry Corner serving with the Nelson Battalion, Royal Naval Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 15/06/1915.

The son of John and Annie M. Corner, of 65, James Armitage Street, Southwick on Wear, Sunderland.

Stephen Henry Corner was born in Southwick on Wear, Durham on the 28th July 1892. He was the 4th son of John Corner and his wife Maria, daughter of John Tucker of Sunderland.

Stephen was educated at the Council schools in Southwick and was employed as a miner.

He first enlisted in the Durham Light Infantry on the 23rd August 1914, but was transferred to the Naval Brigade. He served at Antwerp and was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 15th June 1915.
