On the Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 82811 Leading Stoker George Liddle Crow, serving on H.M.S. Hood with the Royal Navy who died 24/05/1941.

The son of James R. and Edith W. Crow, of Fulwell, Co. Durham.

George ‘Dosh’ Crow was born on the 28th March 1914 in Sunderland, Durham to James and Edith Crow. The family lived in Fulwell, County Durham. George followed his father’s footsteps by joining the Navy in May 1933. He served in a number of ships and establishments including Victory, Nelson, Dolphin, Cormorant, St Angelo, Vernon, Daedelus, and lastly Hood.

He was 27 years old at the time of his death.
