In Hebburn Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of P/MX 98641 Joiner 4th Class Thomas Edward Robinson, serving on H.M.S. Monck  with the Royal Navy who died 24/08/1944.

The son of Matthew and Margaret Robinson, of Wardley, Gateshead.

The headstone reads:-

In loving memory of
Thomas Edward Robinson R.N.
dearly beloved son of
Matthew & Margaret Robinson
died Aug. 24th 1944 aged 21 years

Also Matthew dear father of the above
died March 21st 1980 aged 80 years

Also Margaret beloved wife of the above
and dear mother
Died June 26th 1987 aged 92 years
