On the Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of (CH) 350119 Master at Arms, serving on H.M.S. Clan McNaughton with the Royal Navy who died 03/02/1915.

Frederick George Parry was born at Stratford, London on the 31st December 1871. He was educated at the St Andrew’s School, [Alfreds House], High Street in Deal.

Frederick married in 1911, Winifred Drayson Spinner, born about 1888, baptised 7th October 1888, at St Mary the Virgin Church at Eastry, Kent, daughter of William and Emily Spinner.

In 1915, they resided at 12, Claremont Terrace, Mill Road, Deal.

Frederick first entered the Royal Navy on the 13th March 1897 at Pembroke I, a shore based establishment, [HMS Pembroke was the Naval Barracks at Chatham, Kent right next to the Chatham Dockyard]. 5 feet 9 and a half inch tall, brown hair, grey eyes and a fresh complexion. He had a dot on his middle finger on his left hand, a scar on the left forearm, 4 scars on his right knee and a small scar left finger.

Frederick originally was in the Royal Marine Light Infantry PO/4553, enlisting at Portsmouth on the 31st December 1888. He was there until the 22nd September 1897, then was transferred to the Powerful as a Corporal.

Frederick died on H.M.S. Clan McNaughton on the 3rd February 1915.
