On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of C/MX 69249 Sick Berth Attendant William Basil Weddle, serving on H.M.S. Fiona with the Royal Navy who died 18/04/1941.

The son of John G. and Olga Weddle, of Darlington, Co. Durham.

In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is a family headstone for Dinning which is accompanied by a plaque which reads:
