The son of J. W. and Norah Lowes, of Edmondsley, Co. Durham.

The Durham Chronicle 22/06/1951 contains a Roll of Honour which includes:
LOWES (Edmondsley). Treasured memories of our dear son, Thomas, died at sea 14th June 1944. Mam, Dad, sisters Jean and Margaret.

H.M.S. Mourne was sunk by an acoustic torpedo from U-boat 767 on June 15th 1944.

Thomas Lowes is remembered in our List of Ships’ Crews.
