On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 95945 Stoker 1st Class John William Goodbody, serving on H.M.S. Hood with the Royal Navy who died 24/05/1941.

He was the son of William and Annie Elizabeth Goodbody, of Trimdon, Co. Durham.

John was born on the 3rd November 1917 in Sedgefield, County Durham the son of William and Annie Goodbody. The family later lived in Trimdon, County Durham.

John William Goodbody is remembered at Trimdon Village on T58.01, T58.02, in T58.03, T58.05, T58.06 and in  T58.07 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
