On the Tower Hill Memorial, London is the name of  Master Magnus White, serving on S.S. Dalveen with the Merchant Navy who died 28/09/1940.

 The son of Magnus and Sarah White and the husband of Jessica C. White, of Hessel, Yorkshire

In Sunderland (Bishopwearmouth) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
ROBERTA COATES WHITE
Born 13th Aug 1905, died 30th July 1928

And her mother
SARAH
Born 18th Dec. 1872 died 1st Feb. 1934,
Beloved wife of MAGNUS WHITE.

Also the above MAGNUS,
Born 11th Jan. 1873 died 19th June 1947.

And their only son MAGNUS, dear husband of JESSIE,
 killed at sea by enemy action 28th Sept.1940, aged 38.

Also their daughter
GRACE TURNBULL WHITE
Born 28th Oct. 1903 died 22nd  Aug. 1996.
