In Thornaby on Tees Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 2360/S Stoker William H. Walker serving on H.M.S. “Birmingham” with the Royal Naval reserve who died 30/10/1918.

He was the son of W. H. and Rebecca Walker, of Thornaby on Tees.

The family headstone reads:

Who Died At Greenwich
Seaman’s Hospital
Oct. 30th. 1918.
Aged 26 Years.
