John Robert was born the 20th February 1909, the son of John Robert and Margaret Jane Turner, of South Shields and the husband of Elizabeth Turner, born 11th January 1910, of South Shields.

John Robert Turner was 2nd Officer on board the M.V. Luxor, ship number 161141, he died at South Shields, due to an attributable war risk related Injury. He was residing with his wife at 27 Ravensworth Terrace, South Shields.

Elizabeth remarried a Curley on the 4th August 1948.
