On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Second Officer John Cecil Bewick serving on S.S. Lunula (Liverpool) with the Merchant Navy who died 09/04/1941.

He was the son of Thomas and Edith Bewick. He was married to Irene Bewick of Benton

The Shields Daily News 17/04/1941 reports:-
ROLL OF HONOUR
BEWlCK—Briarsyde, Benton. April 1941 result of enemy action at sea. aged 34 years, John Cecil. dearly loved husband of Irene Bewick (nee Nixon).—Deeply mourned by his sorrowing wife.
BEWICK – Briarsyde, Benton. April 1941 , result of enemy action at sea. aged 34 years. John Cecil. dearly loved youngest son of Edith and Thomas Bewick of l Firtree Avenue, North Shields –Deeply mourned.
