On Plymouth Naval Memorial is the name of D/KX 138574 Stoker 1st Class Alexander Warren serving on H.M.S. Drake IV with the Royal Navy who died 19/08/1942.

He was the son of Alexander and Mildred Warren, of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle 11/10/1944 reports with a photo:-
Stoker Alexander Warren, son Mrs. Mildred Warren, 45, Pendower Way, Benwell (previously reported missing, now presumed killed).

Alexander Warren is remembered at Benwell on B86.11 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
