On Plymouth Naval Memorial is the name of Commander (E) Lancelot Fogg-Elliot serving on H.M.S. Galatea with the Royal Navy who died 15/12/1941.

The son of Charles Thurston Fogg Elliot and Cicely Fogg Elliot, of Staindrop, Co. Durham.

The Teesdale Mercury 20/04/1932 reports:-
The Late Mrs Fogg-Elliot.
The remains of Mrs Fogg-Elliott, wife of Mr C. T. Fogg-Elliot, Raby Park, Staindrop, were interred at Staindrop Parish Church yesterday, when a large number of mourners attended.

The service, which was choral, was conducted by the Rev. H. S. C. Spurrier, Vicar.

Mr Fogg-Elliot was formerly private secretary to the late Lord Barnard. His four sons are all in the Navy.

Among those who attended the funeral besides the family mourners were Mr C. W. Miller (private secretary to Lord Barnard), Mr If. B. Hall (resident agent for Raby Estate), Mrs H. C. Watson, J.P., Mr H. L. Fife, J.P.

Mr G. Copeland carried out the arrangements.
